Architectural History
On May 2nd, over 75 Kingsmill community members enjoyed a presentation of the history and architectural significance of the Kingsmill Dependencies presented by Mark Wenger (Architectural Historian).
A few fun facts:

The brick used for the construction of the structures are extremely well made
-
The Dependencies were built with a water table which is very unusual
-
The fact that the stone stairs still exist is EXTREMELY rare
-
The Dependencies and Out Buildings are terms for the same structures
-
The term Office during the 18th Century was used for any space that had a specific purpose. So a laundry room was an office or a kitchen was an office
