What makes this foundation unique?
The Kingsmill Community Foundation is a resident-driven nonprofit created by and for the Kingsmill community to protect, preserve, and enhance the way of life that makes Kingsmill extraordinary.
Grounded in a rich and unique history, natural beauty, and a strong culture of safety and community, KCF invests in projects that honor Kingsmill’s past, steward its environment, and strengthen the community for current and future residents.
Through transparent governance and local impact, the foundation provides neighbors and supporters with meaningful, tax-deductible ways to give back to the place they call hom —ensuring that as Kingsmill grows and evolves, it retains its distinctive identity, spirit, and landscape.
Who does what in Kingsmill?
Kingsmill includes several organizations and stakeholders that serve different roles in the community. While their work often relates to the same place, each has a distinct purpose.
Kingsmill Community Foundation (KCF)
The Kingsmill Community Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization created by residents to support projects that preserve and enhance the community. Its work focuses on historic preservation, environmental stewardship, and initiatives that strengthen safety and community well-being. The Foundation raises philanthropic support and invests in projects that benefit Kingsmill now and in the future.
Kingsmill Community Services Association (KCSA / HOA)
The Kingsmill Community Services Association is the homeowners association that governs the community. It manages operations such as maintenance, amenities, architectural standards, and community rules. The HOA provides the structure and services that allow the neighborhood to function smoothly day to day.
Kingsmill Resort
Kingsmill Resort is a private hospitality and resort destination located within the Kingsmill area. It operates independently and serves guests, members, and visitors through lodging, dining, golf, and other amenities.
Kingsmill Police Department (KMPD)
The Kingsmill Police Department provides security and safety services within the community. Their role is focused on maintaining safety, enforcing applicable rules, and assisting residents and guests.
Developer: Escalante
The developer, Escalante, owns certain parcels of land within the broader Kingsmill area and may continue development consistent with applicable approvals and regulations. Development decisions are separate from the Foundation’s work.
What KCF does—and does not do
KCF operates as a supportive, independent nonprofit partner that works alongside the community’s existing organizations to help protect and strengthen the qualities that make Kingsmill special. These lists should help you better understand our purpose within the broader Kingsmill community.
